This year, the queen of pop and cat lover extraordinaire, Taylor Swift, continued to steal hearts with updates about her fabulous feline family.
But it wasn’t her cats Olivia Benson or Meredith Grey that stole the show. Swift’s other cat Benjamin Button, joined the pop star on the cover of TIME magazine and the world lost its mind.

In 2023, our whiskered friends once again proved that they’re not just adorable fluffballs but also true stars in their own right.

Feline fashion took a leap forward in 2023, with cat-inspired accessories making a bold statement on runways around the world.
From cat-shaped handbags to whisker-themed earrings, it seems that the fashion industry has finally caught up with the undeniable trendiness of our four-legged friends. Who knew that the latest must-have accessory could be inspired by the most graceful creature to ever walk on four paws?
No where else was this more evident than the 2023 Met Gala, where celebrities paid tribute to the late Karl Lagerfeld and his cat, Choupette.
Finally…Cats in Space
It was only a matter of time.
Scientists at NASA beamed back a video to Earth from nearly 19 million miles (31 million kilometers) away — and the short clip stars a cat named Taters. It’s the first time NASA has streamed a video from deep space using a laser.
In the video, the playful orange tabby cat chases, of all things, the elusive red dot from a laser pointer as it moves across a couch.
