World’s Best Cat Litter Achieves Goal of Donating 3 Million Pounds of Litter
MUSCATINE, IOWA (July 10, 2023) – KENT Pet Group’s flagship litter brand, World’s Best Cat Litter®, reached a monumental milestone in June after donating three million pounds of naturally safe and sustainable litter to hardworking cat shelters across the U.S. and Canada through its GiveLitter® program.
“World’s Best Cat Litter is deeply committed to helping shelters because that is where so many cats begin their lives,” said Steve Gordon, President of KENT Pet Group. “Cats can be a little bit fickle, so these shelters need a litter box solution that really works. Having cats start with a great product is really important. We are truly thankful for our shelter relationships and proud to have reached this win-win milestone with them.”
To celebrate this commitment to giving back, the team curated a fun music video featuring several shelter partners (and their cats) dancing to the tune of the company’s hit song ‘Danger Floof’.
World’s Best Cat Litter offers eight natural litter formulas, all of which harness the long-lasting power of naturally absorbent corn, to ensure cat owners smell less, clean less and buy less. Each litter formula offers outstanding odor control, and is quick clumping, easy scooping, 99% dust free, lightweight, and safe for pets, people, and the planet.
2023 marks World’s Best Cat Litter’s 25th anniversary and the brand has sold nearly 1.5 billion pounds of litter since its inception.
“The World’s Best Cat Litter GiveLitter program began with periodic donations to shelters and expanded to donate litter in regular cadence to 120+ shelter, rescue and cat café partners,” said Emelie Knobloch, Marketing Programs Specialist. “All of this is possible because of the success of the business, the hard work of KENT employees and the selflessness of the animal welfare community.”
As part of the GiveLitter program, more than 120 shelter partners receive World’s Best Litter as needed throughout the year. This way, shelters can use their funds in other ways to help pets and their communities.
It is estimated that 3 million cats end up in shelters every year. The GiveLitter program seeks to make it easier for shelters to do more with less litter.
