Hi, everyone!
First and foremost, thanks everyone for spreading the word and helping with this effort! We were truly amazed with the turnout and participation from everyone in providing great charities and groups so far. We were more than happy to deliver a couple bags of World's Best Cat Litter™ to the charities and groups selected during our last giveaway.
Guess what? This time we are raising the stakes even higher!
Instead of two winners we will have five! Just like last time, we invite you to leave a comment on this post and tell us why we you are recommending your choice. We will then draw five submissions on January 26, and send each a 34-lb bag of cat litter. And we'll post the names of our winners—and the people who recommended them—in upcoming blogs!

I'd love to see the TLC Animal Shelter in Digby Nova Scotia Canada receive some free litter. They are a small no-kill shelter that relys solely on the generosity of others. They receive NO government funding. They are doing a great job and I have adopted most of my family members from them!
I want to recommend the Pasco Animal Welfare Society (PAWS). These people are tireless in helping pet owners, stray cats, and the community. I always look forward to taking in my two beautiful kitties for maintenance, just so I can see "who" they have up for adoption that week. And they ALWAYS seem to find good homes for the rescued cats. I also wish to add, World's Best Cat Litter is absolutely the best invention EVER for cat owners. It's like not having a litter box in the house. Great product.

I recommend the Worcester Animal Rescue League in Worceser, MA, where I volunteer. It's a no-kill shelter that operates solely on private donations and does not receive any state or federal aid, so we rely on the public for supplies.

Marley's Cat Tales in Cary, NC, does a wonderful job. They have great fosters who love and cherish cats until they find them a forever home. I think their motto says it all:

Please consider Marin Cat Connection. All of the cats in their program live in foster homes, and the foster homes use The World's Best Cat Litter. This organization started because the community needed a no-kill shelter where perfectly adoptable cats could have a chance to find a good home. The adoption counselor is wonderful at matching felines with humans, and the successful adoption rate is very high. Every cat in the program has been examined by a vet, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped, dewormed, etc. (The funds to provide medical care, food and litter comes from garage sales, raffles and 2 mail campaigns each year-- they receive no money from the government. Everyone involved with this group is a volunteer-- no paid employees.) When a kitty goes to a new home, The World's Best Cat Litter is always the litter recommended.

Clearwater, Florida. They were the ones I got my Jeannie from. They are mostly a group of people who foster and find homes for cats. It is a wonderful thing they do, and I think they don't get enough attention in the area. What a great group they are.

I would like to recommend Animal Lifeline Inc., P.O. Box 1034, Bellmore, NY, 11710. They are mainly a spay/neuter organization, and have arrangements with local vets for discounted prices. They will help people trap if necessary, set up the vet appointments, foster when necessary, do adoptions, etc. They also have fundraisers quite a few times a year to help with the costs. And the nicest part of Animal Lifeline, Inc...they are completely volunteer run.
I would like to recommend the Humane Society of Bergen County located in Lyndhurst, NJ. They are a no-kill animal shelter.
I would like to recommend the Nine Lives Foundation in Redwood City, CA. This is a wonderful no-kill shelter for hundreds of cats. I use World's Best Cat Litter for my own cat, and we both just love it. The cats at the Nine Lives Foundation deserve the litter too.

I would like to submit Forever Home Pet Rescue out of LA/OC here in rainy California. Gloria and company are wonderful people and I adopted the most perfect cymric kitten from the in fall of 2008. It was misting the day I picked her up, hence, her name, Misty. They rescue, rehome, and foster and donations of any kind are always welcomed.

I would like to recommend Strays&Others in CT - a rescue group entirely managed by its volunteers
and relying completely on public donations and support. They rent a space in a private home in
which are housed 20 kittens and cats as well as having another 30 housed with foster parents !
All these cats are fortunate enough to have a caring sanctuary where they receive good food,
warmth and lots of cuddles and they do get through a lot of cat litter!!

I've been a supporter of Tabby's Place for a long time.

Tabby's Place also takes in terminally ill and sick cats who need constant attention. I've never seen a place so dedicated to cats that would normally be put down for their illnesses. The facility is filled with kitty-comfortable modern furniture and even little clear tubes for the kitties to wander throughout the establishment!

Please consider PAWS shelter on Main Ave. in Norwalk, CT. As with most shelters, the overcrowding is tremendous. With 4 cats of my own, i know how effective and fabulous The World's Best Kitty Litter is in eradicating odors and very easy clean-up. Receiving such a gift would be very helpful to the animals and humans at PAWS. It's virtually an all-volunteer army at PAWS.
They do such good work and tirelessly help the ever increasing amount of dogs and cats that appear at their doorstep daily.

Cats R Us is a no-kill rescue group of wonderful people in the Annapolis area of Maryland. The initial effort was to focus on TNR and management of feral colonies, and the group now includes two small shelters and many fosters as well. Friends of Michagan Animals Rescue in Bellville, Michigan is the most deserving rescue. Marcy and Pete, the founders, moved out of a nice home into an older home on a parcel large enough to build their own, 100% no-kill, all volunter run animal shelter to stop the euthanasia of strays in their community. Noe, they ar working on another buidling jsut for the cats. No wher will you find such a "happy" shelter, where visitors and volunteers love to come and play with and care for the animals while they await new homes. www.FMAR1.org
I would like to recommend O'Malley Alley Cat organization of Nacogdoches, Texas to receive the much needed litter. This fantastic organization has made themselves heard in a very big way in our small East Texas town and surrounding county. While most people in this area believe that animals are indispensable, this organization makes people understand that animals are an important part of every person's life. They have a very successful trap-neuter-release-manage program and have saved hundreds of cats and kittens through the T-N-R-M program and through foster care. They truly care about all of the animals that they rescue and make sure that they go to very good and loving homes. I adopted two kittens from this organization last year, and they are both the joys of my life. They have helped me cut the costs of vaccinations and spaying/neutering for my two kittens and the leader of the organization even calls to check-up on the little ones. I wish every organization could receive litter and I know that O'Malley Alley Cat would be so appreciative to receive this wonderful gift. I'd like to suggest the Bellevue, Washington Humane Society as an organization that does great work and could use some help. We benefitted personally last year when this organization helped us with a female cat we had rescued who had a litter of kittens. The Bellevue Humane Society helped us by accepting some of the kittens and providing a free spay for the rescued mom. We could not afford it all, and were extremely grateful for the help!
Our county is lucky to have The Humane Society of The Ochocos just outside Prineville our county seat. Our small shelter is a No Kill facility and they take every stray brought to them, operated by 3 paid employees and multiple volunteers doing a variety of work. I volunteer, age 70, just to go and love all the cats. I take treats and toys and hold, love, play with them all! Handling half feral kittens is also where I can help. it's a very small shelter limited in space. Last year we took in over 100 Kiss Dogs from a property in a nearby community, nearly bankrupting the shelter in paying for their care, vet needs, etc. All the Kiss Dogs have been adopted now. Some were highly unadoptable due to poor health and also aggressive behavior which meant a lot of time and help to get them adoptable.
I can't stress enough how important this shelter is to our county. Prineville city has no pound so this shelter gets all the animals from town as well as from the entire county. Thanks for picking us.
Please consider our small local no kill shelter in Prineville, OR. The city/county have no animal pound or shelter, so this is it for a huge county. They only have 3 paid positions, the rest are volunteers. In addition to the cats in front, we have a Community Room for multiple cats to live in peace and harmony. They need The Worlds Best Cat Litter in there especially. I've been using it at home for my two boy kitties for the last six months, they love it and me too. I volunteer at our shelter, at age 70 I can't do much physically, but I have so much love to give so I go and just love every cat there, taking treats, catnip and toys. For over ten years, our Hell's Kitchen-based organization has been a lifeline for abandoned, stray, and neglected cats and kittens. In addition, we work closely with the ACC to pull out those who are in danger of being euthanized. Each one is welcomed with kindness and medical attention, with the goal of placement into a permanent, loving home.
Spay and Neuter is the way to go and I support Kittico Cat Rescue in Dallas, Texas. Reduce the number who hit the shelters. Hope they win some litter!
I believe that the Dearborn Animal Shelter, located in Dearborn, MI is deserving of help from WBCL. This past summer, they had two terrible cases of animal hoarders, and are now totally packed to the whiskers with kitties. They are doing the best they can and have even rented trailers to house all of the kitties. They do a great job raising awareness about animal homelessness, and even have a kitty-cam for people to view their activity throughout the day! The Dearborn Animal Shelter has a dream of building a state-of-the-art facility not only to shelter animals, but also provide medical care and educate the public. Dearborn is also a city that has suffered economically. This city once thrived with auto industry, but with the downturn of the "Big Three", came downsizing, layoffs, and job cuts for both hourly workers and salaried employees. The community still gives generously, but still needs more help. That is why I believe that the Dearborn Animal Shelter deserves a little help from World's Best Cat Litter!

The Dakin Shelter is by far very deserving of help from you. They are a small but powerful shelter in the small town of Leverett, Western Massachusetts. When the MSPCA closed its Western New England Animal Care and Adoption Center in Springfield MA in late March 2009, Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society arranged to purchase the building, re-open it, and embark on an unprecedented campaign to put an end to the putting to sleep of adoptable homeless animals. I would like to recommend Saving Graces 4 Felines, a non-profit organization formed in Greenville NC to help stray, abandoned, and feral cats who have no home and are left to fend for themselves. They do a fantastic job working with our local Pet Smart to adopt these unwanted cats. They work to trap and neuter feral cats to keep feral reproduction to a minimum.
I recommend Friends of Wayne Animals, Wayne - NJ. We do work all over Northern NJ and love Worlds Best! In 2009 FOWA took in 486 animals (cats and dogs). We placed 35 cats into safe haven sanctuaries. This is a huge expense for FOWA since we make a donation every time we place a cat. In 2009 we donated $27,750 to sanctuaries. Please help us continue our good work! All our cats and dogs are in foster homes and we absolutely a “no-kill” organization.

I would like to recommend Paws n Claws Vet Clinic in Sanger, TX. Dr. Wallace is not your ordinary vet, she continually takes in animals in need of homes, many are sick and abondoned. She graciously gives them all the medical attention they need and refuses to give up on these little guys. She works hard to find them all homes. I have one of two kittens out of a litter of four that survived, any other vet I know would have given up on these guys. She has even bottle fed most of them from birth. Not only does she do everything she can, she also gives them their shots and spays/neuters them free of charge. She also runs low cost programs and helps many low income pet owners. She never asks anything more than that you provide the animal a good home and be sure to have it fixed. We live in an area that does NOT have a "no kill" shelter, however, she provides just that for these little guys. Please help her continue to do such wonderful work! We love her.
Wayside Waifs in Kansas City is the yes kill shelter that enables all the no-kill shelters to turn away the animals they do. We get all our animals there.....
The Humane Society of Southwest Washington in Vancouver WA, accepts ALL animals regardless of condition or health, including puppy mill survivors and exotics like snakes, alligators, ferrets, rabbits, birds, pocket pets, etc. The more unusual animals are sent to various rescue groups. The Society's "all welcome" policy allows the no kill shelters in the area to turn away animals. No animal is euthanized for lack of space. The Society is run entirely on donations; no government money is received. We recently adopted two young patch mackerel tabbies, Phoebe and Fiona, after our old kitty, Ebonita passed, just missing her 20th birthday.
I'd like to nominate the Humane Society of Mecklenburg Co. in Charlotte, NC. They do a great job helping other organizations when they can, and are sadly underfunded for such a large city!
I would like to recommend Sayreville Pet Adoption, in Sayreville, NJ.They are a true NO kill shelter.The cats are well cared for considering the over population.Many of the cats had to be in foster care in homes as they ran out of space.They would REALLY appreciate this litter.

They are a safe-for-life organization with some of the hardest working employees and (mostly)volunteers I have ever had the pleasure of cleaning litter boxes with. Dogs and cats are carefully matched to families who will love and care for them. I adopted my cat Martin four months ago from ACN and thanks to the World's Greatest Cat Litter you can't tell there's a cat in the house until he rubs up against your leg and purrs. I buy my WGCL at Pet Harmony, a well-stocked pet supply store whose proceeds go to help the animals at ACN.

i would like to nominate the warwick valley humane society in warwick, ny. we have over 100 cats currently in the building,with alot of them in isolation due to sickness. we are a non profit organization with no funding for cats. The only way we can finacially care for all of these felines is through fundraising, which we do alot of. Since we have so many your cat litter sounds like it would go a much longer way than what we currently use. It would be a tremendous help to us and the staff to cut down on cleaning 100 plus cat boxes every day.
